Prof. Dr. Arno Bunzel
Arno Bunzel is the head of the urban development, legal and social affairs research area and has been the deputy research director at the German Institute of Urban Affairs since 2007. In numerous studies and publications, he has addressed diverse questions on urban development, urban development law, municipal environmental policy, climate change mitigation, regional planning and land policy. Since August 2014, he has been an extraordinary professor for “construction and planning legislation bases for regional planning” at the Institute of urban and regional planning (ISR) at the TU Berlin. He has contributed to numerous expert committees, e.g., the “active property policy” working group in the context of the Bündnis für bezahlbares Bauen und Wohnen (association for affordable construction and housing) and in the building land commission of the German Government. Furthermore, he is a permanent guest at the construction and transport committee and in the expert commission on property at the Association of German Cities and is a permanent guest at the exchange of experiences in the department responsible for construction in the Association of German cities and municipalities (Deutscher Städte- und Gemeindebund).
